A Bit About My Story

Hi, I’m Lee La – and I know what it’s like to have a voice in your head that never lets you rest.

For years, I chased perfect grades, tried to reach my highest potential, and kept striving for the “next best thing” – convinced that peace and self-worth were waiting just beyond the next achievement.

I thought that would finally make me feel enough.
Instead, it left me burned out, doubting myself, and wondering why nothing ever felt “enough.”

Like so many, I tried to silence my inner critic – but the more I pushed it away, the louder it became.
The turning point wasn’t about erasing it, but rewriting the relationship.
I learned how to turn it from a bully into an ally. From the voice that held me back, to the voice that had my back.

Through years of research, personal trial-and-error, and a whole lot of unlearning, I’ve discovered how to work with my inner critic – and now I’m sharing the tools, prompts, and perspectives that helped me.

I built SimplyLeeLa for the ones tired of fighting their own mind – the perfectionists, the overthinkers, the ones who look “fine” but feel secretly exhausted.
Here, you’ll find the resources, stories, and small shifts that can help you stop living at war with yourself… and start living like you’re on your own side.

  • Less shame. More truth.
  • Less control. More connection.
  • Less inner bully. More inner ally.
  • Less noise. More clarity.
  • Less performing. More being.

Finding Your Starting Point

Every shift starts somewhere.
Maybe it’s a single question, a story that feels too familiar, or a tool that makes you pause and think, “I’ve never looked at it that way before.”
This space is here for that moment – to help you take the next step that feels right for you, and meet yourself in a way you’ve been needing for a long time.

Deeper Dive into My Story and Behind SimplyLeeLa

For years, I felt like I was at war with my own body – and my own mind. What began as skin flare-ups and gut issues spiraled into hormonal chaos, burnout, and the fear that I was never doing enough. I cycled through doctors, diets, and “quick fixes,” chasing a version of health that always felt just out of reach.

Beneath all the routines and recovery plans, there was a quieter battle:
the pressure to be perfect. The belief that healing, success and rest had to be earned.
That if I could just get it all right – the skin, the schedule, the self-control – I’d finally feel enough.

I didn’t. Instead, I felt disconnected, burnt out, and trapped in a loop of self-criticism. That’s when I realised: this wasn’t only about my health. It was about my relationship with myself – the way I spoke to myself, the way I viewed life, my relationship with others. The way my inner critic dictated every “bad day,” every breakout, every setback, every mistake.

Eventually, I stopped trying to fix myself – and started trying to understand myself. I began working with my body instead of against it, learning to turn my inner critic into an inner ally. That small, honest, sustainable shift is what SimplyLeeLa is built on.

This space is for anyone stuck in the endless cycle of self-improvement, perfectionism, and shame.
For the one who’s tired of “earning” their worth and ready to build trust with themselves instead. Here, you’ll find tools for overcoming negative self-talk, healing perfectionism, and living without the pressure to always perform.

So if that’s the (gentle) shift you’ve been craving – you’re in the right place.

You don’t have to do it all to do it well.

You don’t have to do it perfectly for it to matter.
